Tips on Finding a Good Coach (2650 hits)

If you're looking for a good coach to teach you the ropes of online marketing, do you know what to look for? Who can you trust? What do you look for in a coach? And do you need a coach? If so, what should you expect from one? These are very good questions recently asked by a student of mine and I'd be happy to share my experience so that I can help you also discover what you need to look for when searching for a good coach.

I've actually had a coach, and that's the only reason why my business is where it's at today. It's simply due to the fact that I had a mentor to guide me along the way. Of course I made some mistakes, but without a good coach, I would have made a lot more. The idea I've always had was you want to get as close to the source as possible. If you can't get the actual coach, if that coach has a partner, go with them.

I was a coach and had multiple different coaches that were like coaching partners. Actually, they were students of mine that chose they wanted to do some coaching for me because they really loved what I taught. I even had my brother doing it with me. When my brother was doing the coaching, it was really effective. It was actually a really huge selling feature for those purchasing my services, (even though it was not directly with me). But it worked well for the simple fact that they got my brother. You can't get any closer than that to the source! It was great for his students because any time my brother had any questions, he would actually call me up on the phone anytime to ask me to clarify anything or ask for advice. I let my brother call me anytime - even if it was 3:00 am in the morning! That was really beneficial for a lot of his students. He also understood the whole process, had been around and actually seen and done it, so he had first-hand knowledge of the business. So, if you're looking for a coach make sure that if you can't get them directly; make sure that their coaching partner has first-hand knowledge.

What other things should you look for in a good coach? Find one that's genuine and that really enjoys helping people. That way you know that your money will be well spent. The last thing you want is to hire someone who sees's you as a burden. Your coach also needs to welcome questions. If you have a coach that makes you feel as though your questions are stupid or makes you feel inadequate, they're not meant for you. A good coach welcomes all types of questions and doesn't think of any one question as a stupid one. Remember, you want to learn from the best. So, consider a coach who you admire both personally and professionally. This will not only help you stay motivated but it will also help you achieve the success you desire.
