An East Lansing woman has a shot at being the next star on Oprah's new television network. Life Coach and Author Doctor Stacia Pierce entered an online video contest among thousands of entries. She's in the top five and gaining votes every minute.
Dr. Stacia Pierce, Oprah's "my own show" contestant: "I'm about to enter into the biggest creative phase of my life."

She's been encouraging others to follow their dreams for years. Doctor Stacia Pierce says it all started in her early teens when she started running her own ice cream business.
Dr. Stacia Pierce: "But then when I found out I had to work it, and really manage it. At 14, I was like, I don't think I want to do this anymore, I'd rather help people another way."
She found her way by putting her thoughts on paper. Now more than twenty books later, the wife, mother and author attracts thousands for self-help lectures and has her own website to reach out and help even more.
Dr. Stacia Pierce: "When you hear people say you've changed their life, that you helped them, that's my greatest satisfaction."
Now Pierce wants to build on that satisfaction by hosting her very own talk show on Oprah's new network, an opportunity to practice what she preaches to so many others and bring dreams to reality. Her dream- a talk show offering real-life stories of success.
Dr. Stacia Pierce: "We're living in a season and time where people lost some hope, there's downsizing everywhere, people have lost sight of their dreams, some people think they can't really dream now, and I think it would give them just a burst of inspiration to say there is hope."
Now Pierce hopes her dream will come true and there's a good chance it will. When we talked to her on Wednesday, Pierce's entry had received more than 4-million votes and was in sixth place.
Dr. Stacia Pierce: "I just want to say thank you to those kind of people that are just taking it on themselves. I didn't ask them to do that, but they believe in me and believe I have something to share with America."

Dreams Doctor Pierce believes can become reality. Now she's depending on her followers to make her dream come true. Voting for Oprah's "my own show" contest wraps up at 3am Sunday. The five entries with the most votes will go to Los Angeles for the finals, meaning if Doctor Stacia Pierce can hold her current spot, she will be on that list.
